Setting a Certification to Automatically Assign a Designation

A certification can be set up to automatically assign a designation to a certificant, precluding the need for staff to manually assign designations related to a certification.

Example: The Association of Exemplary Tradesmen wishes to automatically assign the designation of "Master Tradesman" (MT) to all members who successfully complete their certification process.

  1. Navigate to the Certifications App > Certifications.

  2. Open the desired Certification Record. (This option is also available when adding a new certification.)

  3. Navigate to the Details tab > Additional Info.

  4. Click the Auto Apply Designation? check box. A drop-down field will appear.

  5. Begin typing to look up the designation. Only designations that have been configured as "for certifications" will appear in the search. You may also click the Add icon to create a new designation.

  6. Click Save.

Once users meet the requirements of the certification, the designation will also automatically be assigned to them and will appear on their record for as long as the certification remains active.
