Understanding PAC and Non-PAC Funds

When creating a fund in Impexium, staff have the option of setting it as a PAC (Political Action Committee) or non-PAC (ordinary donation). Because PACs in general have their own rules for donation, there are some rules and functionality unique to Impexium funds set as PACs.

This article highlights the differences between a PAC and an ordinary donation.

PAC Donation Ordinary Donation
Only Individuals can donate to a PAC. No PAC donations can be associated with an Organization.

Association staff can record donations on the Organization Record.

Members can donate online, and, if their relationship settings permit, can bill their donation to their organization. They cannot, however, donate on behalf of their organization.

Donor is required to be logged in to donate. Possible to allow donations to be made without requiring sign-in.
An annual contribution limit can be enforced. No annual contribution limit can be set.
Online store donations are accepted via pages using the PAC Contributions web content. Online store donations are accepted via pages using the Donate Now web content.
